Why Kalmly Rooted Exists
After moving from South Africa to the Netherlands, I found myself disconnected — from nature, from the familiar, and eventually, from God. Back home, I associated God with the vibrant natural landscapes, my family, and the rhythms of a more grounded life.
Far from those things, prayer became rare and disconnection crept in. I realized I needed a space, both physically and spiritually, where I could reconnect. A space where I could light a candle, read Scripture, and feel life pause long enough for God to enter.
That’s what Kalmly Rooted became for me: a sacred pause. A return to presence. A way to feel God again—in the stillness, in the earth, in the light of a flickering flame.
